This year I was invited to provide a wedding cake with a Halloween theme. The primary crietria for this cake was... "make it big - I want plenty of leftovers to freeze because your cakes are delicious!". Always a wonderful thing to hear! :)
So I set about making this huge cake which was 20" high and weighed in at just under 14kg's!!

The cake features a my beautiful, rich, moist 'The Royal wedding' flavoured fruit cake as the tier the happy couple will keep for their first anniversary.
The middle tier was an extended Caramel Mudslide cake with layers of caramel buttercream, drizzled with Dulche De Leche Caramel Sauce and drenched in a butterscotch schnapps syrup - all wrapped up in white chocolate ganache and dressesd in a striking black and white stripe icing.
The bottom tier is an extended tier rich dark Very Cherry Cherry Ripe mudcake with layers of Kirsch infused cherries and coconut with coconut liquer and drizzled in a coconut syrup, and wrapped in a couveture dark chocolate ganache.
The skeleton bride and groom are handmade from sugar - as are the pumpkins, webs and headstone, appropriately inscribed 'Til Death Us Do Part'.
The wedding venue was fantastic with a ghostly Halloween decorations and details and an eerie stark black and orange colour story. I delivered in in the daylight hours, but I would love to have seen it duirng the ceremony and celebration at night!!
